Color Toy
Looking through my logfiles I note that a few people are looking for the Color Toy. The Color Toy is a flash based color palette generator. It’s also got a random function that produces some beautiful colors.
There are currently two versions.
- Old Color Toy
This is the latest of the first generation of my Color Toy. Some people seem to prefer this one as it has sliders you can tweak.

- New Color Toy
This is my first attempt at a redesigned Color Toy. It’s a bit simpler, no sliders, but it does generate a bigger palette.

I will, once I have time, be altering it again. Best of both worlds. Until then I’m sure you can get by! ![]()

I’ve seen your color combinator before and I like it a lot but I’m wondering… what is the algorithm you use to come up with the color combinations? I assume you’re using a random color as a seed and then generating the others through an algorithm (and including white and blacki most of the time, I seem to notice).
Can you expand on what formulas you use to define the color combinations and the relationships?

Hi there!
Great thing you did with that color toy, the color schemes produces are very nice.
Like eduo, I’m very interested into the math involved. If you don’t mind, please share it with the rest of the world.
