FAQ*

What's ColorToy for?
ColorToy 2.0 is for mostly for fun! But you may use it for serious projects.
How do I use it?
There are three ways to use ColorToy.
  1. Enter a RGB value. e.g. 211,21,52 and hit "Submit RGB". ColorToy 2.0 will then generate your complementary color scheme.
  2. Enter a HEX value e.g. #c0ffee (see what I did there?) and hit "Submit Hex". ColorToy 2.0 will then generate your complementary color scheme based on your HEX value.
  3. If you're feeling a little frisky and in need of a quick color fix then "Random" is your bestest buddy. Hitting "Random" will, well, generate a random color and associated complementary color scheme. Go on, give it a click.
Note: "Random" can generate some truly beautiful colors. It can also generate some horrific colors. It's the luck of the draw.
Can I use the color schemes in a commercial project?
Sure, how the hell can I stop you! ;-)
You spelt colour wrong!
Well, yes and no. While I would, as a UK citizen, spell color as colour, ColorToy is written in Actionscript. In Actionscript the Color object, which the toy useds a lot, is spelt c o l o r. Color is also the way the Americans spell it, and there are more of them than there is of me!
