What’s with these “Tumblr” posts?

For nearly the past year I haven’t really had much to say on the blog. I have however found lots of cool things I’d like to share, videos, pictures etc. I’ve been posting those to my tumblr page. One of the great advantages of Tumblr is that they make it really easy to share the cool things you find online. The bookmarklet they supply makes it super easy to link up any video, picture, link or practically any information you want to share. Tumblr’s biggest downside however is that you there is by default no easy way for people to comment on the stuff you find. That’s why I’ve started to develop a script that can take your Tumblr posts and post them to Wordpress. At the moment it’s very basic and can only handle video and picture posts but I plan on expanding it in the near future. It currently only runs on my local machine where when I execute it it reads the latest post from my tumblelog via the API, processes the fields, then resubmits it via XMLRPC to wordpress.

The grand plan would be to turn this into some kind of Wordpress plugin for Tumblr but I’m not sure I’ll get that far. Wordpress have released an iPhone app for managing your blog. Seems to work pretty good so far. I’m going to try attaching a pic from yesterday’s biking trip.

Here’s my tasty Ribena Smoothie ice lolly I had at the end of the day. It was delicious.

Shawbridge Flats, Pollokshaws, demolition.

Carolyn and I got up early to go see the the Shawbridge flats in Pollokshaws get demolished. Here is a video courtesy of Carolyn and some pics taken by me. We arrived at 10:40 but they didn’t get demolished till 12:28. Maybe wasn’t the best idea to stand upwind of the demolition but you live and learn.
